The best small artificial plants for every space
Small plants earn their place where bigger pieces can’t fit. Here’s where ours work best:
- Desks & offices — compact succulents, pothos and mini ferns that lift a workspace without crowding it. Browse our office plants.
- Bathrooms — humidity- and light-proof greenery for shelves and vanities. See our bathroom plants.
- Bedsides & windowsills — soft, low-profile plants that calm a bedroom. See our bedroom plants.
- Kitchen benches — tidy herbs and trailing greens that handle a busy bench. See our kitchen plants.
- Shelves & styling — trailing plants and small pots for bookcases and vignettes; pair them with our plants in pots.
- Reception & retail counters — a neat, professional touch that never wilts between cleans.
How to choose a small artificial plant
- Size — measure the spot first: mini (under ~20cm) for tight surfaces, small (~20–45cm) for benches and side tables.
- Pot & finish — pick a pot that suits your space; many of ours arrive potted and ready to place.
- Style — succulents for a modern look, leafy greens for warmth, trailing varieties for shelves, natives for an Australian feel.
- Grouping — odd numbers at varied heights read most naturally.
Why artificial plants suit small and low-light spots
The places small plants live — windowless bathrooms, desks away from a window, a shadowed shelf — are exactly where real plants struggle. An artificial plant looks lush in any light, needs no watering or feeding, and never drops leaves. Our real-touch foliage is finished to read as real up close, so it earns its spot somewhere people see it every day.
How to style small plants like a designer
From more than a decade styling real homes, offices and venues, a few rules go a long way: group in odd numbers (threes look best), vary the heights and leaf textures, and keep the pots in a consistent palette so the cluster feels intentional. A single trailing plant softens a hard shelf edge; a row of matching minis brings order to a long bench.
Styled by Australia’s artificial-plant experts since 2014
Artificial Plant Shop is Australian-owned and operated, and we’ve spent more than a decade styling real homes, offices, hotels and venues across the country. The small plants on this page are the same pieces we use in those installations — chosen for how lifelike they look where it matters most: up close.

Small artificial plants — your questions answered
What’s the smallest plant you stock?
Our mini range starts around 15–20cm — ideal for desks, shelves and bedside tables. Check each product’s size options before purchasing. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email or give us a call.
Do they come potted?
Many of our small plants arrive potted and ready to place; each product page lists the pot or base for that item.
Will they look realistic up close?
Absolutely — small plants sit where people see them closely, so we choose to only offer plants that look real up close.
Can they go in a bathroom or a spot with no natural light?
Absolutely. Artificial plants don’t need light or humidity, so they’re ideal for windowless bathrooms, ensuites and interior shelves where real plants won’t survive.
How many should I group together?
Odd numbers work best — a cluster of three at varied heights looks more natural than a single plant or an even row.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
